Although the CDonPC site itself is not that
impressive to look at, you will soon be
navigating yourself around without too much
trouble.
Like LavaMus,
You can search or browse for mp3s by A~Z
or genres but don't expect too much help
with the genres as they only list music
in major categories ie Rock, Pop, Country,
so if your looking for music related to
say 'Jungle' or 'Rave' expect to spend some
time digging!
While surfing around CDonPC you may find
the server running very slow at times which
can be very off putting.
CDonPC have a charts section which seams
to be kept up-to-date for those important
new movers. Charts include the US Top 100,
UK Top 75, Germany Top 50 and the Radio
1 top 40.
To help the mp3 downloads process, CDonPC
have a free download manager program called
"CDonPC Dumper" which boast a
'smart and intuitive interface'.
Prices are set around $0.13
- $0.15 per track which
is not as competitive as LegalSounds
Take note of the bitrates as there is no
fixed rate for the mp3s, some seam to be
much lower then CD quality.
With plenty of accepted payment methods
to choose from, purchasing should be straight
forward enough, but those who use paypal
for all web dealings will be very disappointed
to learn that the major player is not accepted!
